Skin Rejuvenation Q & A

What is Skin Rejuvenation?

Laser skin rejuvenation can be the solution you’re looking for in order to treat skin irregularities on the face and elsewhere on the body that has been caused by sun, skin disorders, aging, etc. Such irregularities include wrinkles, acne scars, freckles, sun spots, and visible blood vessels. Skin rejuvenation can also help with the loss of skin tone.

Lasers skin rejuvenation works on many levels. One, lasers can be used to stimulate the skin’s own natural collagen production, which in turn results in tighter, softer, smoother younger looking skin. Additionally, lasers can be used to treat dark spots, veins, scars, red/brown hyperpigmentation, melasma, discoloration resulting from hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause. Our laser has multiple handpieces which results in a variety of options for your skin care needs.

Am I A Good Candidate for Skin Rejuvenation?

As long as you are physically healthy and have no auto-immune compromising conditions such as cancer, or have previously been diagnosed with melanoma, you could be an excellent candidate for laser skin rejuvenation.

What Can I Expect From a Skin Rejuvenation Procedure?

Laser resurfacing is a quick, easy and painless outpatient procedure. Depending upon how much of your face is being covered, the treatment process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. When your skin rejuvenation is completed you’ll be given instructions for aftercare.

Why Might I Opt For a Chemical Peel?

Both laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels are used to improve the texture of the skin. In addition to using a laser in order to treat layers of skin, however, a chemical peel involves the use of a chemical solution that causes unsightly blemishes, scars, spots and skin irregularities to exfoliate. Chemical peels are suitable for all skin types, as well as all skin tones. Oftentimes, a skin rejuvenation program will include both laser and skin peels, as they both work on different levels of the skin.
