Body contouring is a means of treating excess fat and skin after a major weight loss, while also improving the shape of the underlying support tissue. There are various forms of body contouring, many of them surgical. But non-surgical options, such as CoolSculpting, do exist.
Possible surgical procedures for body contouring include:
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical form of fat reduction. A fat-freezing treatment that uses controlled cooling — rather than surgery — to target fat, it’s considered an attractive option for those who would prefer something less invasive than other body contouring procedures, especially in cases when diet and exercise do not work.
Research has shown that cold can target fat cells without damaging the skin or surrounding tissue. From this discovery came the development of Cryolipolysis®, the science upon which CoolSculpting is based.
During a CoolSculpting procedure, the staff at Premiere Physicians deliver precisely controlled cooling to target the fat cells underneath the skin. These fat cells freeze and, eventually, die. Over time, those dead cells leave the body naturally, ensuring that patient results are long term.
Before the procedure itself, Dr. Kota or a member of his team will meet with you for an initial, one-on-one consultation to discuss your goals for reshaping your body, and to pinpoint specific areas where it would make the most sense to reduce fat. After that, you’ll make an appointment for the procedure itself, during which a gel pad and applicator will be applied to the area(s) you chose to target. This procedure is so relaxing, you can even read, check email, or take a nap while it’s happening!
